Admittedly we've only had this faucet installed for a few days but so far it is absolutely AWESOME! Installation was very easy, I just followed the directions. The only advice I would give is make sure you read the entirety of each step before proceeding with that step. Beyond that it took me about 30 minutes to install. For those of you doubting the touch option, here are a couple of things I've learned.
First, both the faucet and handle are touch-sensitive. Meaning, if you leave the handle in the on position and touch the faucet, it will flow. But also, if you just touch or move the handle, that will also turn the faucet on. So for those of us still getting used to this new technology, those old habits of using the handle will still apply.
Second, I would term the faucet as "tap-sensitive", not "touch-sensitive". Meaning it will turn on and off if you tap it, but if you hold it in order to pivot the faucet to another location of your sink, that will not turn it on or off. This is a great feature when you want to move the faucet around while doing dishes, cleaning the sink, washing hands, whatever.
Lastly, until last night I thought the technology was "cool" but perhaps a bit of a luxury. And then last night we made bacon, which we've done a million times over. Suddenly I realized how awesome it was to not have to touch the handle with my bacon-y hands. Woohoo! :)
Again, we are just days into owning this product so take my opinions with a grain of salt but so far - great!!!
We've had this faucet for over a year and still love it. There are plenty of reviews on the faucet, so here are some observations...
Occasionally it will not work. Tap the faucet or handle, the blue light turns on, no water comes out. After several tape it will eventually work.
We're on the 2nd set of batteries - pretty good for lots of use.
The automatic 4 minute shut-off is really handy.
The velcro included to attach the batteries - it stinks. The adhesive failed after 4 months. This is a BIG problem. If the wires are loose, the faucet will malfunction. Not a loose connection - just extra wire hanging under the sink. Pull the faucet head out and the wires get jiggled by the hose, the faucet will turn on and off randomly. The wires need to be attached tightly and out of the way. I wound up putting the battery pack on a little shelf and using tie-straps to secure the wires to the plumbing - with rubber spacers.
If you find that tapping the faucet does not seem to work - move the wires. The wires can't touch anything metal - pipes, etc. - or the faucet will not work.
